All a FlutterColourPop All a Flutter 5-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($10.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a new, coral-themed color story that included two shimmery shades paired with three matte shades. I liked the mix of depth and undertone in the palette–though it is a little monochromatic–and felt like it came together cohesively without muddying. The eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, and wore around eight hours on me. This palette is one of five in a holiday vault, though ColourPop said they would be available individually when I asked, but they have not appeared individually on the site. It’s not realistic for me to review it as a set (takes much longer, but I also started testing them across sets already, and the system is better setup for a palette, not five palettes within a set, for readability!), so I decided to review them individually still. DelicateDelicate is a pale yellow with iridescent pink and silver sparkle throughout. It had a thicker, creamier consistency that was somewhat dense, and while it was workable with a dry brush, it was more prone to fallout. The product applied particularly smoothly with a fingertip. This shade had full color payoff that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably. FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent). Formula Overview$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours. The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush. Browse all of our ColourPop Pressed Powder Shadow swatches.

In DreamsIn Dreams is a vivid, medium-dark red-coral base with lighter, peach-to-orange shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, moderately dense texture that wasn’t overly firm, so it was easy to use wet or dry. There were signs of fading present after eight hours of wear. Silver MedalSilver Medal is a deep gray with neutral undertones and a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, a little drier to the touch, which made it have light fallout if applied with a dry brush. I’d use this with a dampened brush or gently pressed on with a fingertip for less fallout. It had rich pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably. The consistency felt smooth, velvety, and lightweight with some thinness but not enough to be clingy. It had mostly opaque, buildable color payoff that stayed on well for five and a half hours. The formula was lightly hydrating but not as long-wearing as marketed (16 hours). FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent). Top Dupes
Formula Overview$34.00/0.12 oz. - $283.33 Per Ounce The new finish is described as a "velvet matte" with "exceptional softness, color depth" and is "long-lasting" with "16-hour comfort and wear." The color coverage is supposed to be "highly pigmented" and will "glide on effortlessly." The majority of the shades available were highly pigmented, as marketed, with even, smooth coverage that wasn't prone to emphasizing lip texture, lines, or imperfections. The texture was smooth, moderately dense but not thick, so they felt lightweight on (but not clingy). Most of the shades--at the time of review--are more mid-depth or deeper, but the lightest shades I tested were a little prone to settling into my lip lines over time. The big "downside" is that they don't wear anywhere near 16 hours; that would be a tall ask for any lipstick formula, let alone a traditional, bullet formula like this one. They have longer wear than average with many shades achieving six hours of solid wear with slight stains left behind. The formula was comfortable to wear and lightly hydrating overall. They hare a floral scent that was noticeable applied to the lips, and I had slight taste of floral perfume when eating/drinking. Please note, Rouge Gs are now refillable, so the price reflects the cost of the lipstick itself but not the lipstick holder (which is $37.50 and available in different designs). I personally keep mine with the refill-only cap, which is suitable for being kept at home but would not be ideal for someone who keeps it in their bag or travels frequently. Cherry Red (219)Guerlain Cherry Red (219) Rouge G Luxurious Velvet Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep red with cooler undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had rich color payoff paired with a smooth, moderately dense consistency that had velvety glide that adhered evenly and wasn’t prone to sliding around while worn. The color lasted well for six hours, left a faint stain behind, and was lightly moisturizing. The issue was that the brand claimed 16-hour wear, so it fell quite short compared to that claim. With the recent Black Friday sale they had, I went ahead and repurchased some items as well as bought some of the releases since then. It’s a pricey brand, so I wasn’t able to purchase everything, though. I’m hoping to have reviews up in January/February, but here are swatches for now! Celebrate 27 years of giving back 100% with three special-edition Lipsticks in Keith Haring’s signature primary colour palette. It’s our communal belief in equal rights and healthy futures for all that forms the most meaningful message for M·A·C VIVA GLAM x Keith Haring. “As one of the most disruptive beauty campaigns of all time, M·A·C VIVA GLAM set the standard for giving back within the industry thanks to the support of provocative powerhouse talent, our Artists and community,” says John Demsey, Chairman of the M·A·C VIVA GLAM Fund and Executive Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. “For our 27th anniversary, we’re thrilled to honour the late iconic artist Keith Haring and carry forward his mission of using his imagery to drive positive change for those most in need of support. He was a true visionary who used his talent for purpose. While he sadly passed during the height of the epidemic, we are so proud that his iconic art and philanthropy lives on through VIVA GLAM.” “Keith Haring was a good-natured, astute, symbolist artist who drew with the most minimal lines some of the best assets of human nature – symbols that everyone could read,” says Debbie Harry, former M·A·C Cosmetics VIVA GLAM Ambassador. “His optimism and humour were always there in his lines.” Three special-edition Lipsticks in Keith Haring’s signature primary colour palette in Matte and Frost finishes come together for this year’s VIVA GLAM collection. via Temptalia https://ift.tt/3d0UdpS Hot ChocolateColourPop Hot Chocolate Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) includes one shimmery shade and three mattes in a richer, deeper neutral color story. All four shades were pigmented, blendable, and longer-wearing with little to complain about; the “worst” aspect was a bit of powderiness across all four shades but nothing that impeded performance. This quad is one of six in a holiday vault, though ColourPop said they would be available individually when I asked, but they have not appeared individually on the site. It’s not realistic for me to review it as a set (takes much longer, but I also started testing them across sets already, and the system is better setup for a palette, not five palettes within a set, for readability!), so I decided to review them individually still. Choc FullChoc Full is a deep brown with muted, warm olive undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was a touch drier and more loosely-pressed, though I had no fallout when I patted it into place with a dry brush; for more insurance, I’d recommend using it with a dampened brush or fingertip. It had opaque color coverage that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably. FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent). Top Dupes

Ur HotUr Hot is a blackened taupe with cooler undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges without much work. The texture was soft, a little powdery in the pan, but wasn’t prone to sheering out too readily. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably. It’s not for someone who wants anything but darker, smoky black eyeshadows, though, but I don’t think that it was done at the highest level of quality as a few shades had issues. The color story worked best in duos rather than using more than that together, and it would work well as a complementary palette to other shades of shimmer that are no doubt in our collections. GothiqueGothique is a medium-dark black with neutral undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable color coverage with a firmer, slightly stiffer feel in the pan. For a palette that seems to be celebrating black eyeshadow, it seemed like it should have been more blendable, especially along the edges. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly. Formula Overview- Byredo's eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "easy to blend," "long-lasting," and have "rich colour pay-off." They have a generally firmer feel than most eyeshadows have on the market, so using a firmer, moderately dense brush and moderate pressure are necessary to pick up product evenly when using a brush. The brand does indicate that they're "especially" blendable when using fingertips, though the narrow pans may not suit everyone's fingertips. I did not find using fingertips was necessary to achieve coverage or blendability overall. Some of the brand's eyeshadow palettes include a glittery "top-coat," and these have a transparent base chocked full of fine glitter particles (which, by the ingredient list, appear to be Bio-glitter rather than plastic, or PET, glitter, but there's no callout about it when it seems like it would be a selling feature). The texture of these top coats is lightly tacky, and they work best with a fingertip and then patted exactly where one wants, as they don't really spread out at all. The eyeshadows were typically pigmented, smooth to the touch, and blendable, with some of the low-sheen shades "melting" on the lid a bit for a very seamless finish. They wore around eight hours before fading visibly. Browse all of our Byredo Eyeshadow swatches. WrathWrath is a medium-dark black with neutral undertones and a matte finish with flecks of silver sparkle scattered on top. The consistency was soft, smooth, and more firmly-pressed into the pan, but the underlying powder remained blendable on my lid. The issue I had was that the sparkles did not seem to bind as well with the base, so there was fallout during application and little that translated so it was less distinguishable from Gothique in practice. It stayed on well for eight hours with slight fallout over time. FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent). Top Dupes

MysteresMysteres is a dark, sage green with cooler undertones and flecks of larger, gold sparkle throughout. There was light fallout during application with this shade as the base didn’t have quite enough binder to capture all those larger sparkles when applied to bare skin, so I’d recommend using a fingertip and/or pairing with an adhesive base/spray to help improve overall application and wear. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that wore decently for eight hours with some fallout over time. It had a lightly emollient texture that was slightly thin and more firmly-pressed into the pan, but it wasn’t stiff to work with, just needed a bit of firmer pressure initially to pick it up. The product applied evenly to bare skin with minimal fallout during application and had opaque coverage. It lasted well for eight hours with faint fallout over time. The formula felt somewhat tacky and performed that way as I had to pat it into place and then pick up more if I wanted to keep going, as it did not spread from wherever it was initially placed–this minimized fallout opportunities during application but did require one to be precise about application. It had light fallout/migration after eight hours of wear. Full disclosure, I did not wear it on my eyes as I am not comfortable with the particle size in this quantity near my eyes at this time. I tested longevity as a cheek product to see migration/fallout of the glitter over time. Top Dupes

It’s such a bold and powerful shade.
